Red Fox Ale : When President Roosevelt was elected in 1932, George Largay foresaw that Prohibition was going to be repealed, so he bought two abandoned breweries; one in Amsterdam NY, and the other in Waterbury, CT, to process some of the first legal brews after Prohibition. Red Fox Ale became the flagship beer. When WWII occurred, Largay Brewing Company sold most of its output to the U.S. Armed Forces stationed around the world, and it was Red Fox Ale that was often served. At the end of WWII, George Largay sold the brewery and the brand Red Fox Ale to Ropert Brewing.
